Chloe is our STAR of the Week. Her favorite book is The Thank You Book by Mo Willems. Here is what students had to say about Chloe: "I like Chloe." - Harvir "She shows kindness." - Macx "We play together all day." - Lilian "She helps." - Harmony "She shows respect." - Ayinde "She plays with me." - Gurveen It's Red Ribbon Week! Students showed their school spirit by dressing up each day. They also learned about making healthy choices for their bodies like getting exercise and eating healthy foods. TK has spirit! We always have fun at centers and choice time. Here are some top activity choices this week. On Wednesday, we celebrated the season with pumpkins! Students measured, weighed, felt, and decorated pumpkins. There was lots of excitement and a little disgust. Pumpkin pulp is so squishy! Thursday is the 50th day of school! We celebrated by learning about the 50 States with fun puzzles and songs. Check out these cool states videos!
Learning is so much fun! Can't wait to share how much these students are learning with families next week.

Bo is our STAR of the Week. His favorite book is Dragons Love Tacos by Adam Rubin. Many of our busiest learning times I never capture on camera though because we are just so in the moment. That is the way most of this week went. However, I had the privilege to step back twice for special presentations and take some photos. First, a special guest science teacher, Mr. Chris, introduced us to the concepts of solid, liquid, and gas and showed us a bunch of cool experiments with dry ice. Today, Miss Nita shared a story with us about Diwali and Maya performed a wonderful Indian dance. Students learned that families celebrate with lights, food, decorations, and even fireworks. Happy Diwali! Oh, and of course we had plenty of opportunities to share a good book. These friends had fun playing "school" in the library this week. Such a fun week! Bassam is our STAR of the Week. His favorite book is Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes by creator James Dean. Here is what students had to say about Bassam: "I like Ayinde." - Harvir "He helps me up when I fall down." - Dylan "He's doing [criss cross applesauce] like me." - Bo "He shows respect." - Lilian "He likes Disneyland." - Sydnee "He has kindness in his heart." - Grayson Friends love to share books in the library! We had more fun with dinosaurs this week. We learned that dinosaurs hatched from eggs.
