Bella is our STAR of the Week. Her favorite book is Pete the Cat and the New Guy by Kimberly and James Dean. Here is what students had to say about Bella: "She's always nice and kind." - Abeer "She's kind" - Avery "I like Bella." - Ayaan "I like Bella because she has lots of energy." - Dalton "She's super fast." - Evan "She's really, really nice and really good at paying attention to the teacher." - Lara Students participated in Red Ribbon week by dressing up each day and being reminded of the importance to take care of their body by getting exercise and eating healthy food. On Wednesday, students had a blast with pumpkins. They used them to measure, estimate, weigh, count, and record their data. It's very academic but students just think they're having fun. :) On Thursday, many students dressed up as super heroes for Red Ribbon Week. They got to do a special round of circuits in the gym too! Exercising was great fun and these kids are so joyful! It's awesome to be around them.

Ayaan is our STAR of the Week. His favorite book is Pip the Little Penguin by Roger Priddy. Here is what students had to say about Ayaan: "He always plays with me." - Aizah "He's kind" - Carmela "He plays with me like Power Rangers. He's the Red Ranger and I'm the Pink Ranger." - Joanna "He's nice to us." - Kseniia "He's good and he plays with me." - Gurshan "I like Ayaan." - Veean TK did a terrific job remembering routines when they returned from fall break. Here they are working hard as we start our first day back to school. For Ff week, we had a cool science lesson on fingerprints. Students watched a short video about how forensic experts use powders and light to detect fingerprints. They learned about fingerprints, how each one is unique and how they can be shaped in arch, loop, or whorl designs. Then they had fun making fingerprints using stamp pads. Some of them were even able to make fun fingerprint characters. Such creativity!
Avery is our STAR of the Week. Her favorite book is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault. Here is what students had to say about Avery: "She always plays with me." - Adriana "She's my friend." - Lorenzo "She jumps with me." - Connor "I like Avery." - Luke "She's sweet and lovely like sunshine." - Kebron "I like Avery." - Vaibhav On Wednesday, students participated in the annual school Jog-a-Thon! What a treat to see so many families at the event. Students enjoyed Otter Pops at the end of the event to cool down and celebrate. TK continued having fun with a dinosaurs theme this week. I am so impressed at the vocabulary some of these little ones have. They thought of the words omnivore and carnivore to describe dinosaurs all on their own. We had fun using a sentence patterning chart to make up sentences about dinosaurs. We also finished our dinosaur art project by adding a sentence using new sight words. TK continues to work hard at listening and following directions at school. They earned a second lunch and playtime with the teacher this week. It's such a treat celebrating with them!
