That means the trains came back at choice time! This week students learned about Abraham Lincoln. They observed his image on a five dollar bill and a penny. Then they created an Abraham Lincoln art project too. Students are focusing on the social skill of self control. Students discussed what self-control looks like and sounds like. Students are practicing self-control throughout the day, especially at center job time when the expectation is that students work independently without talking. They have been earning points for every two minutes that they can maintain the silence. On Wednesday, they earned their 20th point and got a special visit from Mr. Vinni who brought special electronic toys to entertain the class on Digital Learning Day.

Cooperation, persuasion, conflict management, and decision making are all strengthened during unstructured play. Even more though, GSPD is possibly the most joyful day of the year. Just look at all these happy kids!
