Students shared places they like to visit. Countries of interest outside the United States included Mexico, Japan, Ireland and India. We read a leprechaun tale together and students got to make some fun St. Patrick's Day crafts including a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow and leprechaun masks. We can't wait to wear the masks tomorrow. Tomorrow we will also set traps to see if we can catch a leprechaun over the weekend! It was a really wet week. TK doesn't mind though because inside recess is so much fun!

On the day pictured, students greeted one another with a fun chant. Then students shared how they were feeling that morning. Our classroom meetings are an important part of building community in TK. The growth these students have made this year continues to amaze. Here they are writing in their new journals with lines and using skills that they learned from the Handwriting Without Tears program. For science on Vv week, students created and observed a vortex. Then they recorded their observations in their science journals. Students also used coding skills to guide Bee Bots through a maze. This was a favorite activity for many. Just for fun, here many of us are in the silly hats we made last Friday celebrating Dr. Seuss week and Read Across America Day. Finally, here we are showing gratitude by sharing in the writing of a thank you note to the people at My Kid's Dentist who came to our class and gave a wonderful presentation on dental health last week. When I delivered it to their office, they were so happy. It made their day!
Milo is our STAR of the Week. His favorite book is The Beetle Alphabet Book by Jerry Pallota. We watched a big hail storm and learned so much by using our senses. On Wednesday, we learned about dental hygiene from volunteer presenters from My Kids Dentist! On Thursday, we went on our first field trip! It was a blast exploring at the Sacramento Children's Museum!
