We continued our study of Nursery Rhymes and Fairy Tales this week with a focus on Hey Diddle Diddle, Little Miss Muffet, and Jack and the Beanstalk. Project Lead the Way's lesson on structure and function based on Jack and the Beanstalk was the perfect connection to our unit. The kids loved being challenged to design and build the tallest beanstalk possible. We can't wait to see fairy tales and nursery rhymes come to life next week at Fairy Tale Town!

What a wonderful reunion these TK friends had on Tuesday. It is always special to reconnect as a class community after a break. Students had so much to share! It was a great time to give them new journals and new pencils. Hooray for fresh school supplies!
TK continues to explore Nursery Rhymes and Fairy Tales. We are also diving deep with our first ever Project Lead the Way module focused on structure and function of design. Of course, the month wouldn't be complete without discussing Earth Day and ways that we can take care of the planet. Enjoy the photos! April in Sacramento started off beautifully. We are so excited to have new choices at recess, including brand new tricycles!! TK loves to ride. Other fun new recess options are sidewalk chalk, jumbo blocks, and hippity hop balls (the kind that kids can sit on and bounce along). We were so lucky to have a special guest visitor, Mrs. Kinder, come one day to teach us a P.E. lesson with parachutes too. What a wonderful reason to spend more time outside! Here's what TK had to say about our playtimes: "We had so much fun," said Marissa and Ariannie. "The trikes were a great blast!" said Sandro. "We liked playing with the blocks," said Laila. In Language Arts, we are continuing our Nursery Rhymes and Fairy Tales unit. This week we focused on Jack and Jill and Little Bo Peep. After break, we get to dig in to STEM related activities thanks to a cool unit from Project Lead the Way. Yay!
