Eva is our STAR of the Week. Her favorite book is The Beetle Alphabet Book by Jerry Pallota! Look what students had to say about Eva: "Eva works a lot and I love her so much." - Carter "I like Eva." - Colin "Eva's so nice and cute." - Felix "I like Eva because she's my friend." - Marley "Eva plays with me." - Rithish "She's so nice." - Zoë Students continue to enjoy having a choice in their learning at center job time. This week we added more fall themed centers with leaves and pumpkins! On Thursday, students had fun with pumpkin math and science. We are so fortunate to have many parent volunteers that can make extra special events like this possible. Sami surprised us with a visit on Thursday too. The kids loved seeing him again and cheering each other on with positive messages including, "Never give up! You got this!" and "Strive, Achieve, Motivate, Inspire!" Today students had the chance to taste their toasted pumpkin seeds. They had about a 60% approval rating. ;)
What a fun week in TK!

Colin is our STAR of the Week. His favorite book is Good Boy, Fergus by David Shannon! Look what students had to say about Colin: "Colin plays with me all day and not breaking the rules." - Titus "I like Colin." - Joshua "He plays with me." - Bruce "He's so nice." - Mason "He's nice and he's cute." - Sasha "He's going to be an astronaut like me." - Xander For Ff week, students learned about fingerprints. They observed their own fingerprints and learned that no two prints are alike. Then they made fingerprint art! TK is hard at work to learn all their letter names and sounds. Here they are practicing during our "Letter Walk" today. These kids are becoming better and better writers too! This week we wrote in journals for the first time this week. Students shared what they did over fall break, observed me write and illustrate my fall break activity, then wrote and illustrated on their own. They put so much effort into their work. Look at this level of detail! Today we had fun with extra outside time for PE. Students learned how to safely ride trikes and played with sidewalk chalk too. Check the Twitter feed for some trike video footage. :)
Carter is our STAR of the Week. His favorite book is We Are Ready For TK by our class! Look what students had to say about Carter: "He's fun to play with and he's funny." - Bea "I like Carter." - Sophia "He can be kind." - Brian "He's nice." - Eva "He's fun to play with." - Evelyn "I like Carter because he's my friend." - Tavish It was Ee week. Students were introduced to the vowel/consonant distinction. They looked for letter Ee in messages and stories. TK continued to explore dinosaurs too, especially their life cycle. Students learned that dinosaurs hatched from eggs and that the life cycle goes on and on...well until extinction at least! Another awesome part of our week was being paid a visit by Captain Kindness and a First Grade class who shared a message about kindness and delivered kindness capes for teachers and students to use in recognition of kind acts at school. So kind! We got a jump start on Ff Week by opening up a Forky craft station at choice time today. I love their quirky creations!
