Oliver is our STAR of the Week. His favorite book is One Big Pair of Underwear by Laura Gehl and Tom Lichtenheld. Here is what students had to say about Oliver: "He's always nice and always plays with me." - Abeer "He's kind and he plays centers quiet." - Adriana "He's a great student." - Lara "I like Oliver." - Corinne "He tries his best not to talk at centers." - Isaiah "He's a good student and he listens to the teacher every day." - Luke This is Yy week in TK. To celebrate this letter, students have the chance to do yoga each day! It's so fun for them to challenge their bodies, breathe, and practice self-control while enjoying a cool themed story from Cosmic Kids Yoga. Today we had our first assembly of the year for TK and they were a tremendous audience. I was so proud of them for being respectful listeners and using self-control to sit and watch while the high school students from PFAA and Costa Rica sang, played instruments, and danced in celebration of unity and peace between our schools and our countries with the One Voice project. One Voice is a beautiful opportunity for these students to share rich multicultural experiences, especially through art. Our young students even sang a song in Spanish that they learned from Senora Quant. The students visiting from Costa Rica were touched by their sweet words and voices.
After sitting still so well, we got to enjoy the beautiful spring weather at recess!

TK is so excited that spring is officially here! We have been learning about the seasons all year. This week students wrote in their journals how they feel about spring and what they see in spring. They shared their favorite flowers at morning meeting and are beginning a flower art project for Open House.
This week's photos feature many of their current favorite center jobs as well as the surprise green and gold sensory table objects that the leprechauns left in TK last week! Luke is our STAR of the Week. He loved playing at the Sacramento Children's Museum! Check out his awesome monster face. Here is what students had to say about Louis: "He's nice and he's the STAR." - Veean "He plays with me." - Louis "He's my friend and he's nice." - Lorenzo "He's kindness all of the time." - Connor "He plays with everybody." - Vaibhav "I like Luke." - Carmela Ann Our first field trip was a success! Students had a blast exploring the Sacramento Children's Museum. For some of them though, riding a school bus for the first time was even more exciting. Today TK worked out with Sami and Sami's Circuit program. Students cheered each other on and were so happy moving and grooving through the many stations. We ended the day with choice time. Many students chose to create signs warning those sneaky leprechauns to stay out of TK. Hope they work!
Louis is our STAR of the Week. His favorite book is No, David! by David Shannon. Here is what students had to say about Louis: "He's kind to people." - Aizah "He's one of my friends." - Avery "He's nice to everybody and helpful and plays with girls and boys." - Joanna "He's really funny and runs really, really fast." - Luke "He's so funny and kind and has 100 love in his heart." - Lara "He's very kind and sweet and very, very kind." - Evan Students had a blast with our school-wide Dr. Seuss themed week. Between dress up days, Dr. Seuss night, and all the wonderful stories to share, it's been a fantastic week. Here they are at Morning Meeting on Wacky Wednesday playing instruments and cheering for their friends and on Thursday looking for hidden letter v in our morning message. There are also a few photos of fun new center jobs too. For Vv week, students learned the word vortex and got to see one in action. It was exciting! On Friday students will ride the bus for their first field trip. I can't wait to share this fun new experience with them!
