Kebron is our STAR of the Week. Her favorite book is Little Bea and the Snowy Day. Here is what students had to say about Kebron: "She's always kind." - Ayaan "She's brave and she never gives up on her friends." - Avery "She's nice." - Bella "She plays with me every day and if nobody wants to play with me she does when I am sad." - Joanna "She's kind." - Vaibhav "I like Kebron." - Aizah Hooray TK students are officially 100 days smarter than they were on the first day of school. TK students have grown so much physically, academically, and socially/emotionally too. Some of them are almost as big as an Emperor penguin! They are ready to take on more challenging reading and writing activities with confidence. This week students practiced identifying and writing the number 13, counting to 100, labeling parts of a penguin, and compiling and illustrating syntactically and semantically correct sentences including an adjective, noun, verb, and prepositional phrase! They practice kindness every day and are getting along so well. Enjoy the gallery of photos and see some of the things TK has been doing this week. Hooray for the 100 days!

Joanna is our STAR of the Week. Her favorite book is A New Reindeer Friend. Here is what students had to say about Joanna: "She's so nice and kind and she always plays with me." - Abeer "She's so kind." - Luke "She's kind and respectful." - Kebron "She shows respect." - Isaiah "I like Joanna." - Lorenzo "She always plays with me and we play on the playground." - Kseniia Students have grown so much this year! They have learned so much about how to listen, learn, and cooperate. They work hard to show kindness every day. On Friday, report cards go home and I am so excited for parents to see how students' hard work is paying off. This week we have had a flurry of kind 5th Graders coming in daily during their recess times to support TK. They have been doing prep work as well as activities with the kids at center time. What amazing students!! Because of the big storm that we had last week, students go another rainy day recess. They love playing with the novelty toys, games, and puzzles that come out for rainy days. On Friday, students celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life. They learned that he wanted people to be kind to each other and treat each other fairly. We sang "Happy Birthday" to him and wrote in our journals too. I'm so impressed with the attention to detail that many students are putting into their writing and drawing! Here is one last photo to celebrate the awesome 5th Grader's (plus one not pictured) who spent their recesses helping out in TK this week. They were so responsible with watching the time, doing prep work quietly, and showing kindness to all the little ones they helped with learning activities.
Isaiah is our STAR of the Week. His favorite book is Words We Know A-Z created by our TK class! Here is what students had to say about Isaiah: "I like Isaiah." - Corinne "He's my friend and he plays with me." - Gurshan "He's cool." - Dalton "He always tries his best and he has a cool lion." - Avery "I like Isaiah." - Alana "He's always kind to the teacher." - Oliver The holidays are such a joyful time in TK. I just love celebrating with them. Highlights from our last week of December together and our first week back this January include: Kind Kids Club card making, winter holiday stations, popcorn/movie/pajama day, Five Senses, and a New Year countdown celebration!
