Matthew is our STAR of the Week. His favorite book is It's Christmas, David! by David Shannon. Look what students had to say about Matthew: "He's always trying his best." - Bea "He's handsome." - Eva "I like Marley." - Matthew "He always is a good friend." - Marley "He's a good dancer." - Gracie "He always tries his best." - Zoe We celebrated the 100th Day of School this week! Students explored counting one hundred objects in many ways and had fun decorating and wearing crowns. These kids are 100 days smarter! It was also Pp week and we learned lots about penguins. Students got to stand next to a life-sized Emperor Penguin poster to see if they are taller than the giant penguins. Most aren't! I can't wait to see students' cute penguin cut outs in the window soon too! We were so busy that we only had time for a few of the special Kindness Week activities. That's okay though because we can spread kindness next week too! :)

Marley is our STAR of the Week. Her favorite book is It's Christmas, David! by David Shannon. Look what students had to say about Marley: "Marley's a good friend." - Colin "She's kind." - Evelyn "I like Marley." - Matthew "She always tries her best and she's quiet at the carpet." - Gracie "She's nice and she tries her best." - Mason "She always tries her best and she's so sweet." - Rithish TK returned to school this month with a New Year's countdown and resolution making. Five year olds have an amazing range of resolutions from playing piano or basketball to getting a cat and being a shark! (No, not wearing a costume; being a shark. Haha!) After all the holiday fun in December and the first week back in January, it was great to return to our regular routines this week. Here are some glimpses of our STAR sharing her All About Me poster, our Morning Meeting sharing time, and a Handwriting Without Tears lesson too.
Celebrating the holidays with five year olds is the BEST! We are so lucky to have many, many parent volunteers (and some special guest siblings too!) who make big in-class celebrations possible. I hope these little ones had a joyful holiday break. I can't wait to see them again to ring in the new year!
