Dd week has been exciting! We learned about dinosaurs and that they were either herbivores or carnivores. We learned how to draw a dinosaur, got to put together a dinosaur puzzle, match dinosaur "skeletons" to pictures of what scientists think the real dinosaurs looked like, make dinosaur art, and write a sentence about dinosaurs! We were having so much fun, I forgot to take many pictures. Here are a couple though: This week was also the big unveiling of the "dress-up" option for afternoon centers. These kids love to dress up! We are so lucky to have support from Mrs. Duran and our many wonderful parent volunteers during morning literacy centers. Thank you all!!! After our experiment to sink the cup last week, we got to explore objects that sink or float at a new science and observation center. We've been working hard on letter formation and celebrated learning all the "Frog Jump" Capitals. These letters start with a tall line drawn from top to bottom and then require the pencil to "jump" back to the top of the line to start the next line or curve in the letter. Finally, we are thrilled to have the chance to watch Laura Numeroff, author of If you Give a Mouse a Cookie and her newest book, Raising a Hero, live stream video with our class and about 64 others tomorrow morning! Our class brainstormed questions to ask her and emailed her today. We hope she picks a question from our class to answer! She's excited for tomorrow too. She even responded to my tweet mentioning her in our schedule tomorrow! These are my photos from Laura Numeroff's visit to Fairy Tale Town last year around this time. She signed books for SOOO many kids, even books from their homes. It was really special to meet her. And there's more! Check out our class newsletter:
